Derrick Williams

Derrick fell in love with the game 25 years ago when a young Tiger Woods took the PGA tour by storm. Since then, he has dedicated his life to the great game of golf. Growing up, he excelled as a player and was lucky enough to compete collegiately at the Division 1 level. After graduating from Michigan State University, he turned professional and has competed in various State Opens, Mini Tours, PGA qualifiers and Q Schools around the world. He moved from the Midwest 10 years ago to Southern California where he began working in the golf industry. Previously, he has been a teaching professional at Brookside GC, Scholl Canyon GC and Valencia CC. He also served as the Outreach Coordinator for First Tee Greater Pasadena and has been a High School/Collegiate Head Coach.

He takes a lot of pride in his knowledge of the game and has a passion for instruction. He hopes to be able to elevate everyone’s experience here at California Country Club. Derrick has a wife of 15 years and 4 children. Outside of work, he enjoys all sports, traveling, being social, giving back to the community and making a difference wherever he can.
